Waltzingmouse November blog waltz

It's time for another Waltzingmouse blog waltz! The theme this month is Christmas - nice and easy, which is just about all I can manage with my hectic schedule at the moment!

I recently received the big blooms poinsettia set and have been itching to use it. When this set was released I particularly loved some of the unusual colour schemes used by the design team. At this time of year I love icy blues, so here you are a blue poinsettia!

I stamped the image in powder ink, quickly threw some clear embossing powder on it and heated it up. I then came in with the powder ink again, this time on a scrap of felt wrapped around my fingers (note to self - must buy one of those felt distress ink tools). I blended from the edges inward, then accented the middle with gems and the veins with glitter. Here's another picture showing the lovely sparkle on there.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the waltz.

Debby

Supplies:

Stamps - WMS big blooms poinsettia, frame it
Inks - American Crafts powder, Versafine smoky gray
Card - SU! bashful blue
Dies - Spellbinders large squares, lacey squares
Stickles star dust

Clear embossing powder

So beautiful! I love that icy blue and the sparkles. I just bought one of the distressing tools with the felt myself, and I don't like it. Maybe it takes some practice, but I don't feel like it picks up the ink as evenly as my tried-and-true method, a drugstore cotton pad. But I'll keep trying it!
